Bobhowler [bÉ’b’aÊŠle] [noun. Black Country dialect] - a very large moth
Bobhowler is a collaborative trio featuring Andrew Woodhead (piano/electronics), Alicia Gardener-Trejo (baritone saxophone/flute) and Tom Mills (theremin). Their debut album Figures, released in 2020, is an improvised exploration of artworks from galleries across Europe.
Their latest project focuses on the stories, songs and folklore of the West Midlands and features poet, writer and Brummie extraordinaire Duncan Jones. With tales of Black Country mines, potatoes that cure rheumatism and the Devil scorning Brierley Hill, the ensemble explore all thing Midlands, from the bizarre to the wonderful.
